You can eat off that Driveway!!

For those who know me very well, this should not come as a surprise. We had a nice little snow storm on Thursday night into Friday morning and then the temperature plummeted down to single digits (below zero at night). My weekend "project" was keeping the driveway as clean as possible. As you can see by the picture above, I was successful, but it took a few cleanings, lots of ice melt, and enduring frost bite throughout the weekend to keep it up to Merriman standards. Michol did a great job with keeping Laila from dunking Oscar into the snow banks in the backyard, while keeping the trails shoveled.

When we weren't keeping the grounds snow-free, we were keeping warm inside. As you can see by the pictures above, the pups knew exactly what to do to stay warm.

Baby Update: Michol is continuing to do well. She is now 21 weeks and can feel the baby moving around a lot more. According to the online baby tracker, she (the baby) is about the size of a banana! We looked at some paint samples this weekend to start getting ideas on the baby's room. Hard to believe we have a little over 4 months to go!

Boy or Girl Part 2?

After waiting a week to find out the gender of Baby Merriman, the verdict is finally in...we are excited to announce that we will be having a girl! Michol, who is at 20 weeks now, is doing really well. The little one is beginning to show herself in her "temporary residence". Unfortunately, this was our last ultrasound so we won't see the baby until 6/4.

It was a nice and quiet weekend...We had a fun Friday night at the Gifford's eating some great food and playing Wii Pictionary. We took Mom and Dad Merriman out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate their recent retirement. Sunday was spent doing our usual grocery shopping, seeing Mom and Dad Astriab, and relaxing at the house watching a little American and English Football.

We got about 6-8 inches of snow on Friday into Saturday. Michol and I spent Saturday morning shoveling up the grounds. As you can see in the pictures, the dogs had plenty of fun running around the trails we created. Laila, as usual, was a little hesitant in going out into the snow, while Oscar ran out right away and wouldn't stop running around. Tired them right out! 

We had a nice birthday lunch at the Merriman's for my Father. It was nice to get together with everyone and enjoy pizza and cake!

After weeks of anticipation, Michol and I finally had an ultrasound appointment this morning in hopes to find out the sex of the baby. Unfortunately the baby did not cooperate and we were not able to determine the sex. The technician had to take several routine measurements and everything checked out great. The technician was leaning toward a girl, but was not 100% positive. The baby is 9 ounces at this point and is still on track for a June 4th arrival. Since Michol and I really want to find out if we are having a boy or girl, the technician was nice enough to have us come back next Wednesday for one more try at the Ultrasound.
