Every morning when Mallory wakes up, she makes her way to the corner of the crib, reaches up to grab a handful of pacifiers (which we strategically place on the rail so we can easily grab one when they fall out of her mouth while lifting her out of the crib), and then puts each one in her mouth. In order to put one of the pacifiers in her mouth, she has to drop the one that is actually in her mouth. We just had to capture it on video! Keep your eye on her mouth toward the end of the clip (at around 49 seconds)...

My 1st St. Patrick's Day
We didn't know what to expect this St. Patrick's Day but decided to give Mallory the full experience. We started the day at our friends Jeannine and Jake's house for a pre-parade gathering where Mallory met some new faces and did a great job working the crowd. After feeding her at the party, we made our way from our distant parking spot down to the parade and as expected, Mallory fell asleep in the stroller as we walked all the way to our normal spot on Central avenue. She managed to sleep for about a 1/2 hour into the parade until some sirens woke her up.
At around 22 pounds, we are still able to hold Mallory in the Bjorn (max weight is 25lbs) so it was a great idea to bring it along with us. The weather was perfect and Mallory was having a great time watching the parade, listening to the sounds, and soaking in all the interesting passersby.
After the parade, we headed down to the Elks Lodge for our usual post-parade festivities. The place was packed as usual and Mallory, once again, did not disappoint. She was having a great time and enjoyed all sights and sounds. Right before we left you could see she was starting to get tired. She was such a trooper!
After we left the Elks Lodge, we headed over to Grandpa/Grandma Merriman's to drop Mallory off for her sleepover. Upon arrival, she was ready to crash and be snuggled all night! Michol and I headed over to Power's Pub in Clifton Park to meet up with some friends for the rest of the night.
All and all, it was a great 1st St. Patrick's Day for us and little Mallory!

Standing Tall!
Now that Mallory needs and wants to move around more and more these days, we have relocated her main "play" area to the floor. We set up an area in the family room where she can practice her crawling and standing. It's amazing how far she has come.
As you can see in the video below, we do allow her, under close supervision, free crawling time where she can go wherever she wants. As she was crawling in the kitchen, she stumbled upon Laila, who had just finished chasing Oscar all over the yard and decided to crash on the cool floor. Laila gave her a quick sniff and then went back to snoozing.

Under Construction!
With the continuous development of our little Mallory, we enlisted the help of Grandpa Merriman in constructing a wall in our family/dining room area. As you can see from the "before" picture, there was an iron gate that Mallory could easily fit her head through during her many crawling expeditions. We (I supervised) constructed the wall in just a few hours on Saturday and then I did the taping on Sunday.
Next up....painting!
