Hard to believe it is only a couple of weeks into the new year and we are happy to report that Mallory is making some great progress in her development. She can now sit up on her own, eat her meals in a high chair, crawl around like a little spider, and she is now in a "big girl" car seat. We can't imagine life without the original car seat she used the first 7 months of her life, but she is much more comfortable in her new roomy seat.
In addition to all of this, Mallory has started to wake up in the middle of the night where before she was sleeping a straight through the night no problem. She usually goes right back to sleep but the Doctor, at a recent visit, advised that this is normal for her age and we should start to let her "cry it out" and allow her to put herself back to sleep. This should be interesting....
Laila and Oscar are also adjusting to these new developments. They are doing a great job of being gentle when Mallory is crawling around the floor. It's still a little nerve racking when both are standing over her, but we're keeping a close eye on things!
